We had a great 4th of July weekend. A friend of ours (David's good bud & friend from his mission) came up with his 2 kids and we had a party! Ok, not literally, but we had lots of fun.

We introduced them to the cows. I was shocked to find out that this is the closest any of them have ever been to a cow!
Our blackberries have arrived! We only were able to find a couple baskets worth, but can you see the thousands of green berries just waiting to ripen and be ready for us to pick? Oh, I can't wait!
We put them to work picking berries.
Jaxon found a new friend. Yes, that is a naked Barbie Jax is trying to sit next to him. I took out some "girl toys" for Leah and Jaxon decided one of them needed to sit to be his friend.
We ate some delicious food. Kudos to David for making some delicious hamburger patties!
Lots of eating...
We braved the beach on the 4th. Luckily we got a good parking spot and a GREAT view of the fireworks! I'm not a fan of fireworks or huge crowds on the beach on the 4th, but there ain't nothing like being on the beach watching fireworks from the pier!

We came home too late, so we saved the fireworks at home for the day after. The kids (and men) started out with sparklers. The kids loved them! Jaxon got a little too close to Leah, so she wasn't a big fan, but a sport none the less!
Now for the real stuff...the ammo...
The crowd...
The show....
Jaxon didn't make it far. The smoke from the sparklers got to him, so we came in for the light show. He actually volunteered to take his inhaler...that's not normal! And yes, I know its upside down - that was just for the picture.
Thanks to our visitors for the great time. We had a great Independence Day weekend!
