Can you believe it, he's 6? Its hard to believe that my baby has grown so fast. And he's still cuter than ever!

Jonah is such a special boy. He is so sweet, happy, energetic (that's an understatement!), adventurous, and man is this boy creative! He loves anything outdoors - digging in dirt, collecting rocks and sticks, finding bugs, "tracking" animals, picking fruit, gardening, climbing trees, boating, fishing, "hunting," swimming...he's an outdoorsman. He loves learning. I think ever since he could speak, he's been asking questions and putting numbers to everything (no wonder he's good at math!). He wants to be a chemist when he grows up...and he's stuck to that for a couple years now. He loves math and science and history. His mind is always moving - I don't think a minute goes by where he isn't putting his mind to work on figuring out or creating something. He loves his family and loves being a big brother. Shrimp is still his favorite and he wishes he was a real cowboy. His favorite thing to wear are his boots and if he could, he'd probably run around naked (nothings changed over the years!). He's a great pretender and story teller. His imagination never ceases to amazing and entertain us. He loves music - singing and playing his instruments. He has a great musical talent - he has great pitch and tone and he can make a song up to any tune (and it actually flows and makes sense!). We love our Jonah so very much and are so happy he came to join our family 6 years ago!
As for his actual b-day, Jonah woke up early...he actually came in and woke us up. He opened his presents. It wasn't really meant to be this way, but the theme seemed to be guns. He got a cap gun, a nerf dart tommy gun, and then with some of his b-day money he bought a rubber band gun at the car show.
Jaxon was asleep for 1/2 of the present openings, but when he woke up to find new toys, he was ecstatic...he thought they were for him. Jonah was a very good sport and let him share his gifts for a little bit.
He liked his grandparent presents the best. Ma & Papa gave him money - oh man, was he excited about that! He filled his wallet and now everywhere we go he's planning what he's gonna buy next with his money...its just burning a hole in his wallet! Gramma & Grandpa got him his own piano...he hasn't stopped playing since he got it. The other day he was in his room and it was on auto play, playing something like Fur Elise or something and when I walked in, he was moving his fingers around like he was really playing. I said, "Wow Jonah, you play amazing," and he made this huge smile like "hm, should I tell her its not me, or let her think it is." He thought it was pretty funny, but he did come running out saying "Mom, it wasn't really me."
We spent the rest of the day at the Car Show. I didn't get a chance to make Jonah a cute, fancy cake like I love to do, but it was okay, because all he wanted was strawberry cake with raspberries and blackberries and strawberries in the middle. Thats easy enough (living in CA anyway), so I made strawberry cupcakes, sliced them in half, frosted them with Cool Whip Frosting, and threw some berries on top. He was ecstatic!
Happy Birthday my big boy!
We love you so much!

Happy Birthday Jonah! I can't believe how grown up you are...seems like all of a sudden! And, because of all your tracking/adventure abilities, you really MUST come visit us in Wyoming:)
