A Day in Cayucos

This weekend was rainy, but we wanted to get out anyway, so we headed up to Cayucos. Its such a cute little beach town. Its so calm and peaceful and pretty. Its almost got a small Irish town feel to it.
Some friends of ours had said they loved this restaurant there, the Sea Shanty, so we decided to check it out. They definitely have the best fish and chips around! I'm not much of a fish eater, but I would definitely go back for the chips/fries dipped in their tarter sauce! Mmmm.

After lunch, we went for a walk on the pier. After frequenting Pismo and Avila's piers, this one really seems rinky dink. Its short and more narrow and you can feel it kind of swaying at the end. It was fun watching all the surfers and looking for dolphins and whales (no, we didn't see any).

Jaxon was cracking me up with his hood and binoculars...he looks like a little tourist.

Because of all the storms we've had lately, there were tons of big rocks and driftwood for the kids to collect. It was Jonah heaven!

At the restaurant they gave us some suckers - 4, 1 for each of us. Of course the boys took that as 2 for each of them (fine by me). Jax was mesmerized by his suckers. He'd take a lick of one, then the other and back and forth. He really is a crack up to watch!
