Beat the Heat

Yesterday was stinkin' hot! We tried to get things done around the house, but it was just too hot and made us too sluggish to really get anything done. So we headed to the beach. It was SO nice there and literally 15 degrees (or more) cooler. Ahhhh!

We took a nice long walk along the water.

Poor David got his foot smashed Friday (Jonah threw a HUGE boulder right on the top of Davids foot...its all black and blue and ouchy), so the cold water was actually really nice for him. Poor guy was a trooper though, limping down the beach.
Naturally the boys climbed every sand hill, jumped in every water hole, and splashed in every wave.
We were lucky enough to find this beauty before the tide came in and washed it away.
Cool, huh? The same person comes every Saturday and builds a new castle in the same place by the pier...its pretty neat.

I am SO grateful we live near the ocean. We can always count on it to cool us down!

That is too funny! Well for the other Kristen :), to see the sand castles, if you're looking toward the water at Pismo Beach, it's directly to the right of the pier just a couple yards down in the wet sand. I don't know if it is an every Saturday thing or what, but every Saturday I've been there, theres been a new cool sand castle.
