Good Ol' San Diego

My little sister DeDe (okay, Adrianna) graduated from San Diego State this last weekend, so the fam headed down to celebrate.

Day 1
After school Friday we headed down to LA and stayed in the Temple Apts there.  We had a nice and relaxing time with the kids and as always its always nice to see the temple.  Jonah keeps telling us that he wants to move there and those are the coolest apartments ever and why can't we stay forever.

Day 2
We drove from LA to San Diego.  Traffic absolutely stunk on the way down, but luckily we did make it in around 2 hours where it took my dad 5 (from LA to SD) that same say, just a few hours later.

My mom went up Friday, but otherwise we were the first to arrive.  So we got to spend some quality time with DeDe all to ourselves.  The hotel we stayed at was nice...it had a big pool area, its own beach on Mission Bay (it was more like a lake than the ocean) and the boys favorite...2 seals!  Gracie & Billy.

After visiting the seals, we did a little exploring.  We went down to the dock to check out the boats.  The boys loved the ferry and Jonah decided David should buy the yacht on the right there (in front of David in the last pict).  He also was very excited to see the Mexican flag, because he's been studying Mexico in school.

We spent lots of time digging in the sand on the beach.

A couple hours later my sister Sandy and her family joined us all the way from Wyoming.  It was so fun having them, especially since we haven't seen them for almost 2 years!  The kids (and David too) did a little night time scoping of the pedal boats and tried them out a little too.

That night we took a ride on the ferry across the bay and back.  It was cool.  We sat on the roof so we could get fresh air and a good view.  We were lucky enough to talk with the captain who answered all of Jonah's questions and even gave the boys a tour of his cockpit (or whatever its called on a boat).

Day 3
Sunday morning I attended DeDe's graduation.  It's so weird that my little sister is graduating from college.  It's been 8 years this summer since I myself graduated from collage...crazy!

After the ceremony we had lunch at the cafe there with the fam.

Of course the kids had to visit the seals again.  This time DeDe and Todd (D's bo) took them all.

Then we headed to the pool for a little fun.

Then to the beach for even more fun.  We rented a "Funcat."  Jonah and I loved it...I could have spent a couple hours out there on the water just sitting there.

The boys LOVE the beach...its a good thing we live so close to one!  Jonah spent most of his time digging, while Jax just sat in the water.  Kaden and Reese joined in on the digging too.

I didn't get to hold this little girl enough!  Oh my goodness, she is the most cuddly baby ever!

What would a family get together be without spaghetti?  Kaden and Jaxon win the prize for the messiest (and cutest!).  Reese made a new friend...good thing Jax didn't notice!

We had much more fun that evening, but of course I didn't take pictures (with my camera at least)  Poor little Reese split her head open and had to go to the ER and get 4 staples.   That's why kids shouldn't jump on the bed...no more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Day 4
Unfortunately we had to go home on the 4th day, but not without a bit of fun first.  We headed out around noon, so Jonah got to have a little beach fun with his cousins before he left.

Thanks family for all of the fun (and thanks DeDe for graduating in a cool place)!
