We had a fun-filled Easter weekend! Friday afternoon we headed over to Visalia to spend the weekend with David's family (everyone, but DJ & Sara were there-we missed you guys!). As always, the minute we get there, we might as well not be
Jonah's parents, because he's off to play with "the boys." He has SO much fun running freely around the property, playing in the dirt and hanging with his cousins. Saturday was pretty much a fun, hang out day, but that afternoon the kids dyed Easter eggs, but the REAL decorating happened after the kids had left and David and Joseph took over! Saturday evening we had an Easter egg hunt with the cousins. Jaxon even joined in, finding 1 single egg! Jonah on the other hand found lots and lots!
Ma & Papa made a special dinner in commemoration of mine and Jaxon's birthdays - it was SO good! I could eat like that every day! Papa made his famous barbecued chicken and barbecued asparagus. Ma made all the delicious fixins! It was SO stinkin' good! After we had a little birthday celebration for Jaxon. I made a little cake (a tractor in a freshly plowed field - like Papa :) You can't really tell in the picture, but there are actually rows in the field. Jaxon got a rather sad looking haystack cupcake) He wasn't too exciting with the cake - he nibbled on it a bit, but no real messy mess.
After his bath, Jaxon opened presents. He got an Ammon (from the Book of Mormon) character (since that's his middle name), and some real cool toys.
Easter morning my little boys were VERY good getting ready for church (which is NOT normal!), because they knew what was waiting outside for them! Jonah was excited to find that the Easter Bunny gave him a much needed bike helmet (no, we normally don't go all out like this for Easter, but the truth is I forgot all of our Easter stuff at home, so I had to get all new stuff on our way to Visalia, so I got something he might actually need instead of all the candy I had already back home).
Jaxon got a little guitar in his Easter basket (well sand bucket) and man did he LOVE that! He would NOT let that thing go the entire morning! Hmm, do you think he's his father's son or what???

We went to church with David's parents and sister's family. It was a nice meeting. I especially enjoy church on Easter Sunday because it helps to remind me of the reason for the season. We are reminded of the great sacrifice our Savior suffered for us so that we could be forgiven of our sins and some day return to live with our Father in Heaven. Even greater than his death was his resurrection.
So after church we changed our clothes and headed to the Radmacher Easter celebration! It was held at David's cousins house, which is absolutely gorgeous! There was a giant feast, games and lots of fun! There was an Easter egg hunt for all of the little kids (look at all those little kids and that's not even all of them!) Jonah totally scored - there were not only hard boiled eggs, but plastic eggs filled with candy and cash (yes, quarters and dollars), bags of chips, and these giant chocolate suckers. It was crazy! And even crazier is that every kid came out with over flowing baskets.
Of course the kids couldn't stay away from the pool. Jonah and Noah ended up all the way in the pool a few times. It's a good thing we brought a few changes of clothing!
It was lots of fun seeing all of the family (although we missed those who weren't there). We look forward to doing it again! Happy Easter to everyone!
